चप्टर 9

Well we are making up for chapter 8's lack of words. In chapter 9 God is telling Noah and his sons how the world is going to be different after the flood.

9:1-7 And the Lord blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful and mulitply, and replenish the earth.

And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon the fishes of sea; into your hands are they delivered.

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.
(Ok took me a minute here, but we can eat the flesh as long as the blood is not longer in it)

And surely your blood or your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: For in the image of God made he man.

And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.

9:8-11 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you.

And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off anymore by the waters of a flood; neither shall there be anymore be a flood to destroy the earth.

9:12 And God said, this is a token of the covenant which I make betweem Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a
covenant between me and the earth.

9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the
earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

9:15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you
and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall
no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
9:16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it,
that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and
every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
9:17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant,
which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon
the earth.
9:25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he
be unto his brethren.
9:26 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall
be his servant.
(You'll have to read the story here why God has done the cursing and the blessing.)

Noah dies at the end of this chapter and we start in to a new era.

गेनेसिस चप्टर 8

In this Chapter we see a lot happening, however, God isn't saying awhole lot. This is the story of Noah and his family in the ark on the water. And the raven and the dove being sent out. God speaks at the very end of this chapter promising never to distroy the earth again.

8:21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground anymore for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite anymore everything living, as I have done.

Genesis Chapter 7

Well it has been awhile since my last post. I will be going through chapter 7 today which talks about Noah going into the ark and what animals he is required to take with him.

7:1 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: And the beast that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

7:3 Of the fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

7:4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

The rest of the chapter deals with the rain and the flooding. Noah and his family waiting to be let out of the ark on dry land.

Genesis Chapter 5 & 6

Chapter 5 in the geneology from Adam to Noah and Noah's 3 sons Ham, Shem and Japheth. Rahter a boring read, however, there a couple of good stories here. Like Enoch walking into Heaven and Methuselah living the 969 years old before he died.

So we start in Chapter 6 with the Lord said and God said.
6:3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not alway strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be 120.
(so does this mean the God after the fall expected us to live to 120 years? HMMM!)

6:7 And the Lord Said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air, for it repenteth Me that I made them.

6:13-20 And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Make the and ark of gopher wood, rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: the length of the ark shall be 300 cubits, the breadth of it 50 cubits, and the height of it 30 cubits.

A window shalt make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above, and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the thereof, with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven, and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

But with thee will I establish My covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort thou shalt bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

Of fowls after their own kind, and of cattle after their own kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee to keep them alive.

6:21And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.

Now that was alot of instructions! I guess the people that just keep forgiving those who do them wrong have a heart like God's. Even after all of the evil that was taking place God still didn't totally destroy man. Most of us would have.

Tomorrow is chapter 7 and all of the different animals that went into the ark.

Genesis Chapter Four

I'm past Adam and Eve getting removed from the Garden of Eden. The couple have had 2 sons now Cain the oldest and Able.

This chapter speaks of the different offering that where brought before the Lord. Able brought a sheep and Cain brought fruits of the field. The Lord did not accept the fruit of the field and did accept Able's gift of the firstlings of his flock.

4:6-7 And the Lord said unto Cain, why art thou wroth? And why is thy countenance fallen?
If thou doest wel, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

(at this point Cain killed Able)

4:9-12 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Able thy brother? And he said I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
And He said, what hast thou done? The voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
And now art thou curst from the earth, which has opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hands.
When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength, a fugitive and vegabond shalt thou be in the earth.

4:15 And the Lord said unto him, therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengence shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a make upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

This concludes the second sin in the Bible, the murder of ones own brother. I found here that even though Cain killed his brother, God was still merciful and didn't allow the people of earth to deal out Cain punishment. God withheld the judgement and the punishment of Cain for himself.

Genesis Chapters 2 & 3

In chapters 2 God is looking over his creation and making little adjustments. He makes woman and sets the couple to their new life in the perfect garden. And in chapter 3 we see the entry of The Serpent and the downfall of man.

2:18 And the Lord God said, it is not good that man should be alone, I will make a help meet for him.

3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman , yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

3:13-14 And the Lord God said unto the woman, what is that thou hast done? And the woman said, the serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou are cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly thou shalt go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.

3:16 And unto the woman He said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children, and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

3:17 And unto Adam He said, because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow thou shalt eat of it all the days of thy life.

3:22 And the Lord God said, behold the man has become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and life forever.

And the Lord sent them from the garden. This concludes Chapters 2 & 3. We now see that not listening to the words of God and his instructions caused our current state of seperation from Him.

Genesis Chapter One

I will be using the King James Version or the New King James Version of the Bible for all posted scriptures.

This chapter is really easy. It is the creation of the earth.

1:3 And God said let there be light; and there was light.

1:6 And God said, let there be a firmament in the mist of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

1:9 And God said, let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto on place, and let dry land appear: and it was so.

1:11 And God said, let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yeilding seed, and the fruit trees yeilding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth; and it was so.

1:14 And God said, let there be light in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be signs, and for the seasons, and for days, and years.

1:20 And God said, let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creatures that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

1:24 And God said, let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, the creeping thing, and the beast of the earth after his kind; and it was so.

1:26 And God said, let Us make man in Our image after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

1:28 And God blessed, them and God said unto them, be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

1:29 And God said, behold I have given you herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree yeilding seed, to you it shall be meat.

This is all of God's spoken word in Genesis Chapter 1. Nothing to earth shattering about how everything came into existance. For full details pick up your own Bible and "Seek ye first the kingdom of God".

Tomorrow we will proceed into Genesis Chapter 2.

Welcome to And the Lord Said

I started this blog as a way to get the truth about what God had said out. Many people read and quote the Bible but very little that I have heard are God's own words. I was raised with the Bible, but realized how much I didn't know when my husband started asking questions. He was not raised with any religious or Bible knowledge at all. The questions he was asking where simple, however, I was totally unsure if the answers that I was giving where from the Bible or from the church's doctorines. This has sent me back to the Bible for the answers from God Himself.

I will be taking the stand that the Bible is the truth and a God inspired book. I welcome comments and questions as long as it is not about disputing the validity of the Bible as a whole or its origins. I will be starting in Genesis and working my way though the whole Bible. Using only in context the verses where God/The Lord/Jesus speaks directly.

Hopefully, I'll be able to put a new verse on each day for a daily study. Starting tomorrow!
