However, the sons of Jacob after the men has circumcised themselve came and killed them all and took their wives and daughters. Jacob was not pleased with this as it would bring the wrath of the inhabitance of the land against him

there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto
thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

So they left and followed God's instruction.

35:9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of
Padanaram, and blessed him.

35:10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not
be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he
called his name Israel.

35:11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and
multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee,
and kings shall come out of thy loins;

35:12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will
give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.

Genesis chapter 32

In this chapter Jacob has to cross through Esau's land, having not seen him since Jacob had stolen Esau's birthright.

32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him
until the breaking of the day.

32:25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched
the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was
out of joint, as he wrestled with him.

32:26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I
will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

32:27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.

32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but
Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men,
and hast prevailed.

32:29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name.
And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name?
And he blessed him there.

And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen
God face to face, and my life is preserved.

Genesis Chapter 29, 30 and 31

In Chapter 29 and 30 Jacob finds his mother's brother Laban and falls in love with the younger of the daughters Rachel. However, Laban decieve Jacob after he worked 7 years for Rachel and gives him the older daughter Leah instead. This start the battle between the sisters and the maidservents to see who can give Jacob the most children. Laban also tries to cheat Jacob out of the livestock but God sees to it that Jacob fairs well.

Chapter 31 sees Jacob returning to his own land and and family.

31:3 And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy
fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.

31:11 And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob:
And I said, Here am I.

31:12 And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams
which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and
grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.

31:13 I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and
where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from
this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.
31:24 And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said
unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good
or bad.

All I can say is Laban was a very selfish man!

Genesis Chapter 27, 28

In chapter 27 is the story of Jacob taking Esau's birthright.

And Rebecca is weary of the her daughter-in-laws that are married to Esau, so she sends Jacob to her family to find a wife.

Esau also took wives from the family of Ishmael.

We also see the "Jacob's ladder" here.

028:13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD
God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land
whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;

28:14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt
spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north,
and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the
families of the earth be blessed.

28:15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places
whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land;
for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have
spoken to thee of.

And the covenant was made with God and Jacob.

Genesis Chapter 26

There was a famine in the land where Isaac dwelled.

26:2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into
Egypt; dwell in The land which I Shall tell thee of:

26:3 SojOurn in this land, andI will be WIth thee, anD will bless
thee; for unto thee, and untoThy seed, I will give All these
countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware Unto
Abraham thy father;

26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply As the stars of heaven,
and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy
seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my
commandments, my statutes, andmy laws.

What is with this family Isaac lies about Rebecca being his sister, same as his father did with his mother.

26:24 And the LORD appeared unto him the same night, And said, I am
the GOd of Abraham thy father: fear not, for I am with thee,
and will bless thee, and multipy thy seed for My servant
Abraham's sake.
